한국의 비영리부문 성장에 대한 이해: 사회자본의 역할 분석
Understanding the Growth of the Nonprofit Sector in Korea: An Analysis of the Role of Social Capital

The purpose of the study is to examine the impacts of social capital on the growth of thenonprofit sector in Korea. Six years of panel data between 2007 and 2012 were drawn fromvarious sources such as Seoul Survey, Anti-corruption and Civil Rights Commission, SeoulStatistics in 25 Gu-district governments, e-national index in Statistics Korea, and Statistics inSeoul Metropolitan Office of Education. A panel data regression analysis found that twodimensions of social capital-volunteering and union participation-were related to the growthof the nonprofit sector. Also, the nonprofit sector seems to respond to social demands in societywhile economic theory did not appear to explain the nonprofit growth in Seoul, Korea.
