인공지능의 기초적 이해 — 규범적 관점에서 —
초록
In the 4th industrial revolution, coexistence with AI seems to be inevitable, and now no one denies the similarity of AI to humans. Comprehensive understanding of AI and its related status is inevitably a cognitive, emotional, and normative task. With respect to the problem of deciding the moral status of AI, one of the significant standard properties is ‘self’. However, because of the embiguity of the concept itself, ‘narrative self’ or ‘memetic functions’ of AI are addressed as hermeneutical alternatives. In addition, ‘personality’ and ‘autonomy’ can be recognized as the significant normative properties of moral agency. From an anthropocentric point of view, the concept of personality has been defined as cognitive self-consciousness, autonomous moral will, concrete intention-action unity, and even de-personal system instrumentality. The concept of autonomy has been also extended from moral autonomy, liberal autonomy to relational autonomy. Based on these anthropocentric concepts, it is difficult to describe the precise meaning of personality and autonomy of AI and its moral status. But recently the relational status of AI as responsible autonomous agency is persuasively reconstructed in a more relative, relational, and gradational way. Nevertheless, the practical problems of ‘many hands’, ‘distributed responsibility’, and ‘responsibility gap’ cannot be overlooked. Above all relying on the flexible concepts of ‘relational autonomy’ and ‘accountability’, we can tentatively justify and achieve the normative coexistence with AI.
