초록
The Perfectionistic Self-Presentation Scale-Junior Form (PSPS-Jr) is a measure of perfectionism in children and adolescents. It focuses more on an interpersonal component of perfectionism, rather than on personality traits of perfectionism. The present study was designed to validate the Korean version of the PSPS-Jr (K-PSPS-Jr). We recruited a total of 489 participants in South Korea, one group of which is grade 5-6, and the other group of which is grade 7-9. Consistent with previous literature, the 3-factor model was confirmed as follows: Perfectionistic Self-Promotion, Nondisplay of Imperfection, and Nondisclosure of Imperfection, showing good internal consistency. Also, the K-PSPS-Jr had a significant positive association with an existing measure of perfectionism for adolescents, while we examined the relations of the K-PSPS-Jr with measures of social anxiety, depression, ambivalence over expressiveness, and self-esteem. Based on the findings, we expect that the K-PSPS would be a useful tool to better understand the essence of how perfectionism is expressed among youths.
