신경숙의 장편소설에 나타난 에코페미니즘적 글쓰기와 多文化時代의 倫理
초록
The purpose of this study was to investigate relations between Shin Gyeong-suk’s eco-feminist disposition in her novels and writing in the multicultural era. The study particularly aimed to explore the ethics of the multicultural era in her eco-feminism works containing ecological consciousness. In her novels like her short stories, her ecological imagination is described to orient itself toward the world of communication through the expansion of maternity through the act of “caring,” attitude of respect for life, and the space of farm opposite to the violent world of civilization. The study reviewed her Deep Sorrow (1994), The Violet (2001), Lee Jin (2007), Please Look After Mom (2008), and The Phone Rings for Me Somewhere (2010). In those works, “caring” shows the ethics of others in the multicultural era, respect for life shows the ethics of earth, and orientation toward the world of communication shows ethics of difference. Shin’s eco-feminism writing stems from her reflection upon community life and can be embraced as ethics of the multicultural era.
