A study of the morphology of electrospun PLA membranes with the co-solvents

Electrospun PLA in Chloroform were prepared and compared with electrospun PLA in Chloroform/alcohol. The replacement of chloroform by co-solvents with lower volatile property such as CF/Me, CF/Et reduces the tendency towards pore formation significantly. The hydropilicity of UV-OZONE treated electrospun membranes were measured. After treatment, the hydropilicity on the surface of electrospun membrane significantly increased.
