초록
This study analyzed urban characteristics related to the spread of COVID-19 to identify urban characteristics that affect the spread of infectious disease. Through the analysis of previous studies and empirical data, urban characteristics thought to affect the spread of infectious diseases were derived, and urban factors affecting the spread of COVID-19 were analyzed through partial least squares regression analysis (PLS). The time span of the study is from February 2020 to December 2021. The spatial scope of this study is 5 non-capital-region metropolitan cities and special autonomous cities(Sejong-city), and only urbanized areas of the aforementioned regions are targeted to understand urban characteristics. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the proportion of the elderly population had a positive (+) correlation with the spread of COVID-19, and that average income had a negatine (-) correlation with the spread of COVID-19. The vaccination rate showed a strong negative correlation with the spread of COVID-19, confirming the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. The park area per population was found to have a negative (-) correlation with the spread of COVID-19. The land use complexity (LUM) showed a positive (+) correlation with the spread of COVID-19, and it was interpreted that the higher the land use complexity, the more diverse the transmission route as urban residents with various migration patterns came into contact. It was also found that the inflow and outflow traffic ration and the commuter traffic ratio had a positive (+) correlation with the spread of COVID-19.
