주민참여형 커뮤니티 매핑의 효과 분석 : 생활안전지도 매핑사례를 중심으로

초록

This study analyzes the effects of citizen participatory community mapping activity focusing on three cases of neighborhood safety mapping program. Community mapping activity is a sort of crowd-sourcing program, which creates a map of points including information of the area. This activity is significant in that it encourages the participation of residents in solving local problems. Furthermore, there is a possibility that it can be applied for achieving urban regeneration projects. In this paper, we examined the effectiveness of community mapping activities by analyzing the responses of the survey which was conducted to community mapping participants. Main findings of the research are as follows. First, the analysis results show that the community mapping activity increases the awareness of participants about the area where they live. In addition, the findings indicate that the community mapping activity increases the attitude of participants that they could make changes to their community. Second, the results of this study confirm that community mapping activities have positive effects not only to the improvement of fragmented areal problems but also on the urban regeneration policy. Finally, we suggest policy implications for developing the community mapping activity program more effective.
