초록

The main purpose of the Software Defined Networking (SDN) is to provide programmability and virtualizability to network. Northbound interface should not be vendor-specific because of compatibility. High-level abstraction is attained by low dependency on vendors. Vendor-dependent APIs or interfaces accompany conflicting behaviour preventing to be high-level abstraction. Data Distribution Service (DDS) by Object Management Group (OMG) supports diverse features SDN Northbound interface should have, such as querying state, notification of changes, forwarding policy, security and performance policies. In the paper, we assert that DDS middleware is appropriate to replace existing Northbound Interface by vendors. We discuss SDN architecture, especially focusing on Northbound Interface, and show the architecture, considering all diverse aspects of high-level abstract support.
