현대 남성패션에 나타난 프리프합 패션의 표현특성

초록

This study aims at discovering the possibilities that the fashion in various genres can be created and developed into new genres through various combinations by analyzing the characteristics of prep-hop fashion newly emerged in the contemporary men’s fashion. As for study methods, case studies and researches were conducted through the websites related to hiphop, preppy look and general fashion and other internet search engines. Data were collected from XXL, COMPLEX, which are two of the biggest hiphop based magazines in U.S.A., hiphop fashion brand, stylesight, and firstviewkorea. The result of research on prep-hop fashion’s features is as follows. The features of the prep-hop fashion show the percentages as follows; authenticity, resistance, playfulness, bisexuality and summarized as follows. First, authenticity of the prep-hop fashion is interpreted as its unique feature newly created through convergence of hiphop fashion and preppy look. The authenticity of each genre which was expressed differently before convergence is not expressed in the prep-hop fashion. Second, the resistance of prep-hop gives difference to the trend to differentiate itself from other general subjects. The third is playfulness. The modern fashion values emotion and it provides elements of pleasure and psychological comfort through it. Fourth, bisexuality of prep-hop is expressed as being out of the dichotomy through the convergence of masculinity and femininity.
