The Mediating Effects of Resilience in Relationship between Mental Health and Perceived Stress of Military Soldiers

초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among mental health, resilience and perceived stress of military soldiers, to check how mental health and resilience respectively have effect on perceived stress. We also aimed to analyze the mediating effect of resilience in the relationship of mental health and perceived stress. Surveys were conducted on two army units which located in Gyeonggi-do. A total of 285 soldiers participated in the research and used the data for analysis. The results were as follows. First, depression, interpersonal sensitivity, and somatization showed significant effect on perceived stress. Second, soldiers’request for help, the sub-variable of the soldiers' resilience, had a significant impact on the perceived stress. Third, the resilience was partially mediated in the relationship between mental health and perceived stress of military soldiers. Through the above results, several implications were given through specific data that affected the perceived stress of soldiers.
