Flux Saturation Model Using Arctangent and Logarithm Functions Considering the Flux Characteristics of Synchronous Reluctance Machines

This paper describes a flux saturation model expressing the current and flux relationship. The flux saturation model includes a self-saturation term and a cross-saturation term. The flux saturation of the synchronous reluctance machine was analyzed and based on this, the self-saturation term was selected, and the cross-saturation term was proposed. The self-saturation term is an arctangent function that can represent the nonlinear flux saturation well. And the cross-saturation term was proposed considering the cross-saturation and the reciprocity condition. The proposed flux saturation model was experimentally verified for flux saturation of 1.5 kW SynRM.
