A Decision Mechanism of Burst Assembly Parameters for Satisfying Delay Requirements in Optical Burst Switching Network

초록

In JET (just enough time)-based optical burst switching (OBS) network, input traffic suffers delay time for burst assembly and offset at an ingress node. Since the delay time is affected by burst assembly parameters, threshold and timer values, if we suitably adjust the two values, we can bound the delay time to support delay-sensitive traffic. Based on this idea, we propose a mechanism for deciding burst assembly parameters for satisfying delay requirements of input traffic. From the numerical results, we suggest lower bound of threshold and timer values which can satisfy the various QoS requirements. deterministic value regulated by burst assembly parameters, threshold and timer value [2].
