유비쿼터스 기술을 적용한 고령자를 위한 욕실공간 계획에 관한 연구

초록

The advancement of computer technology has stimulated the human society to undergo a rapid change. However, this rapid change is causing trouble despite its positive aspects, such as convenience. Our country is entering a stage where the lifespan of our population is increasing at a faster rate than any other developed country and is about to face the reality of becoming a society that has one of the greatest percentage of elders. These kinds of social changes isolate the elders from the majority of the population, which then leads to more problems. The Ubiquitous technology, which takes its base on IT technology, is one approach that can resolve many of the social problems mentioned above. The elders, who lead different lifestyles from most people, reside in their own homes most of the time. Since aged men undergo physical degeneration, they become more vulnerable to injuries that occur in residential bathroom areas. Therefore, by taking more precautions, through the use of Ubiquitous technology, we are trying to provide a better life for the elders who need physical support. Through experimentation, we are trying to investigate the concept of Smart Home, which is based on Ubiquitous computing and technology. We are making an effort to understand the problems that elders face due to their physical disabilities in order to find out how Smart Home can be of help. From taking examples of the elders’ physical disabilities, we try to develop a more resourceful bathroom space for the aged man. From the analyzed information, we propose a finalized bathroom space for the elders based on Ubiquitous technology. The results from this experiment provide us with bathtub services that relate the temperature of the water to a color scheme. In the bathroom space, we are purchasing a pulse sensor, an infrared censor, a magic mirror that manages elders’ health status that is linked to a system that analyzes the status and enables contact with medical facilities if necessary. We can provide a system that inspects simple health status, such as weight, and that cautions the elders of the moisture on the floor to prevent the elders from slipping on the bathroom floor.
