Electrochemical gating effects of aligned single-walled carbon nanotube network field-effect transistors

초록

Electrochemical gating of carbon nanotubes has recently gained much attention due to its high gating efficiency and its potential application as ionic sensors. Most of the devices studied were on individual multiwalled carbon nanotubes or single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT). However, effective gas sensing operation was also demonstrated in networks of nanotubes, which could have higher application possibilities due to their relative ease of fabrication. Here, we report on electrochemical gating effects of aligned SWNT network field-effect transistors. Voltage applied to the NaCl electrolyte solution actively controlled current transport in the aligned SWNT network, demonstrating field-effect transistor operation.
