이호우 시조의 방법과 위상

초록

Lee Howoo was a famous poet known as sibling poets with his sister Lee Youngdo. He debuted with a poem, Dalbam(Moon night) in Moonjang recommended by Garam Lee Byunggi at 1940. Lee Howoo did not think form features of Sijo as priori and super—historical bridle, than he tried various form experiment within three stanza structure. As a result, he settled independent form, three stanza six lines, in Korean Sijo history. After that, he caused considerable influence to next generation poets. Lee Howoo’s poems were considered standard examples as magnificent scenary and showed various and wide lyricism length. In the formal features, he mainly had written form of Yonsijo in early time, than he had concentrated on single poem form of three stanza six lines at later period. In later time, he realized principle of elegance lyricism with emotion control in writing single poem form aimed by him. In the contents, he supported unique material, voice and various themes, which kept a good understanding with Garam’s opinion that he recommended Lee Howoo because of individuality, inspiration and remarkable materials. And his poetics of later time became spreaded to face up to history through intervening in reality and rigor historical consciousness. Likewise the historical position of Lee Howoo’s Sijo in Korea literature history is special. Not only his works’ world has plentiful poetic heart enlightening our eyes but also his language becomes meaningful examples showing knots of thought, sense, lyricism, consciousness, tradition and modern in mind of modern people. His poetic aura exposing sensible and active world indicates not Sijo is not a fusty product from the medieval times, but enough protects ethnic identity and literal solemn at the same time in modern literature history.
