초록
Russia’s Crimea annexation lies in the competitive process of new international regional integration and the reconstruction of relations of power in the Eurasia region while post-Soviet era draws to a close, and in this context can be explained more comprehensively. Crimea annexation is a kind of property division rearranging old Soviet legacy in the end of post-Soviet era, and a symbolic event announcing a new era. It’s unlikely that due to Russia’s Crimea annexation the West and Russia relations back into “power politics” or lead to the advent of a new Cold War era, because there exist objective factors which limit full-scale confrontation between the West and Russia. In the world after Crimea annexation, unchanged is the fact that as before continue competitively EU’s attempt to expand the sphere of its influence and the scope of cooperation with former Soviet republics, and Russia's project to form “Eurasian Union (EAU)” in “near abroad” (Eurasia region). Rivalry and confrontation between the EU and Russia will be likely to unfold not in the form of “power politics” or traditional geopolitical games mobilizing military forces and threatening with coercive means, but in the form of a long-term struggle for values fully mobilizing their economic and cultural means.
