미술의 치료적 힘과 미술 활용에 관한 내러티브 탐구 - 미술치료의 임상화 현상을 중심으로 -

초록

This study was conducted to shed light on the ways art is utilized within the clinical experiences of art therapists, providing a foundation for discourse on resisting the clinification syndrome of art therapy. To this end, a theoretical review of the concepts of art therapy and the phenomenon of clinification in art therapy was conducted, followed by a narrative inquiry with three art therapists. The study set out three research questions: first, what is the therapeutic power of art as described by the participants? Second, how do the participants utilize art in the field of art therapy? Third, what contextual meanings are formed by the therapeutic power of art and its utilization, as discovered in the participants’ experiences, in relation to the phenomenon of clinification in art therapy? The findings, interwoven into a single narrative, were categorized into the limitations of art therapy and pioneering efforts to overcome them, the therapeutic power of art and its reduction in utilization. The clinification phenomenon of art therapy discovered in the participants’ stories exhibited characteristics of “forming a cycle of staying within the boundaries of clinification,” “starting with limited art therapy,” “isolation and disconnection of art therapist,” and “art therapists becoming distant from art.”
