An Adjustment of Compressor Washing Interval for Improvement of Gas Turbine Power Output

초록

Gas turbine compressor performance depends on ambient conditions is essential to be maintained with optimal operation. 70 to 80 percent performance degradation of gas turbine is mainly affected by compressor fouling but recently washing tends to be overlooked in the field. In this study, it is analyzed the effects of non periodical compressor off-line washing on power output with W501F 4 gas turbines at Ulsan. It is estimated that 4 MW per year of the power output losses are identified. Both power output reducing costs of gas turbine and its washing costs are minimized to 7 months as washing interval. Being integration to washing period with maintenance and borescope inspection can save the power trading cost. It is suggested that washing interval is shorten to 6 months.
