초록

This study was conducted to explore the educational contents requested by the counselors in the suicide crisis counseling supervision using the concept mapping methodology. To this end, individual interviews were conducted with 10 counselors who had counseling sessions with their suicidal clients and had at least one professional supervision session. After collecting the basic idea statements indicating the needs for suicide crisis counseling supervision education, 67 final statements were derived through the process of synthesizing and editing. Based on this information, sorting and rating were conducted on the 67 statements of suicide crisis counseling supervision education needs. Then concept mapping of suicide crisis counseling supervision educational needs were derived through a multidimensional scale analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. As a result, the counselors perceived the contents of the suicide crisis counseling supervision education needs in four clusters based on two dimensions: “Supervision contents: suicide risk assessment vs. counseling structuralizing and intervention” and “Supervision focus: counselor vs. environment.” The four clusters are: “Counseling Structuralization and Intervention Strategies to Reduce Suicide Risk,” “Establishing Connection and Protection System,” “Suicide Risk Assessment and Case Conceptualization,” and “Counselor Empowerment.” As a result of evaluating the importance of the need for supervision education contents for suicide crisis counseling, it was confirmed that “Counseling Structuralization and Intervention Strategies to reduce Suicide Risk” was the most important cluster. Implications for future suicide crisis education for the counselors were discussed based on the results of this study.
