고리 원자력 발전소 블랙아웃 사고에 대한 매체별 보도 프레임 분석

초록

From a media sociology perspective, we explored how news storiesare framed across different media outlets regarding the blackoutaccident at the nuclear power plant in Gori. We also conductedin-depth interviews with journalists in order to examinewhat factors might determine the frames of news coverage. The findings indicated that news frames and tones are significantlydifferent across the political orientation of news media(conservative; progressive) and the geographic coverage of news media (national; local). As external factors, the government, nuclearagencies, and activist groups seemed to exert a certainamount of influence on news frames. Such external factors, inturn, help journalists determine the ways in which news storiesshould be framed. Based on a mixed methods research, we rigorouslyand comprehensively uncovered how news frames are influencedby a number of internal and external factors around mediaorganizations.
