초록
The parenting stress of a mother with a child with a developmental disability is likely to deteriorate the quality of life and parenting. It also affects children's behavior and schoolwork, which in turn has a negative impact on the mother-child relationship and family function. In this respect this study aimed to develop an integrated arts therapy program to improve the ego-resiliency of mothers of children with developmental disabilities and to discuss their effects. The 15-sessions integrated arts therapy program was conducted bi-weekly, each for 120 minutes. The results of this study are as follow. First, based on in-depth interviews with the subjects, the integrated arts program was developed in a way that reflects the characteristics of the group's ego-resiliency. The goal of each stage was composed of initial rapport formation and positiveness, self-regulation, interpersonal relationship, and self-efficacy. Second, the positive effects of the program were proven by the ERS and the LMT. Third, the analyses of each session and post interviews showed that positive changes occurred in the mothers’ positivity, self-regulation, interpersonal relationship, self-efficacy, and problem-solving ability throughout the integrated arts therapy program.
