Commercially available Poly is very useful fiber due to its excellent processability, low cost, and good mechanical properties. However, it has low water absorption properties and softbess comparing with natural fiber such as silk. Alkaline hydrolysis has been studied extensively to overcome its problem because the alkaline hydrolysis improves water absorption properties and softness to give similar to natural fiber character to PET fiber.
