연행로 중 廣寧－山海關 구간의 노정 재구－百戰 벌판의 횡단과 역사 변동의 시각 체험－

초록

Guangning was the largest military fortress on the eastern area of Shanhaiguan during Ming dynasty. The envoys of Joseon always stayed in the posthouse inside a city wall. However, the military function and administrative standing of Guangning were rapidly reduced after the foundation of Qing dynasty. Qing dynasty built the new posthouse about 8km south from Guangning in 1673 for the efficiency of postal route. Since then, the envoys of Joseon used the new route without dropping at Guangning. This paper investigated the route of about 485 ri(about 240km) from two posthouses to Shanhaiguan. I focused on the responses of envoys using the route around the documents recorded since the establishment of Qing dynasty after collapse of Ming dynasty. A number of military facilities were stationed along the new route. The military facilities along new route were taken one by one through several battles between 1621 and 1644. Qing dynasty didn’t restore the destroyed military facilities and the envoys of Joseon passed small and big fortresses dilapidated along the new route. The dilapidated fortresses were the formative symbol indicating the replacement of the dynasty. The envoys visually observed the collapse of Ming dynasty and the historic change through those symbols. The new route was the space to visually experience the historic change and furthermore the historic properties of the region. Besides the Ming and Qing war discussed in this paper, the region was the battlefield for a number of battles from the ancient time when Joseon fought against Han to the modern times in 1940s when the Communist Party and the Nationality Party competed for supremacy in China. This paper traced back the route of envoy to Beijing and examined the responses of envoys of Joseon on the sceneries along the route of envoy and the historic change for highlighting the historic and cultural significance of this route.
