A Measurement of Fan Energy Consumption in Underground Parking Lot by Applying the DCV Method

초록

The main topic of this paper is to verify a possibility of the fan energy savings in underground parking lot by applying thedemand-controlled ventilation (DCV) strategy based on the real-time variation of the traffic load. In the previous study, whichis based on simulation, two different DCV approches; CO-concentration based DCV (CO-DCV) and DCV with vehicle detectionsystem (VDS-DCV) were proposed to reduce the fan energy consumption in the underground parking lot. In this study, it is astage to set up a pilot ventilation system based on previous study, to show the applicability of the DCV. The DCV approcheswere tested by activating of mechanical ventilation system with automatic control system. The activating test results indicatethat a largy amount of fan energy consumption can be reduced by the DCV method in continuous mode operations.
