Effect of nano sized SnO2 powder for Li-ion secondary batteries

초록

Tin oxide have recently received considerable attention as a negative electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries. Tin accommodates 4.4 lithium ions per tin atom in the Li22Sn5 phase. This gives a theoretical specific charge capacity of 994mAhg-1. In spite of their large theoretical capacity, the large irreversible capacity and large volume expansion during charging & discharging cycles are major obstacle for real application. Nano-sized tin oxide was improved the cycle life performance and cycling stability. In this study, the nano-sized tin oxides were synthesized by Aerosol Flame Deposition(AFD) technique. Nano sized SnO2 were synthesized by supplying droplet of tin chloride mixed ethanol in the form of aerosol droplet into an oxy-hydrogen flame. And then sintering at different temperature. So we are controlled tin oxide particle size. Their properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). Charging-discharging capacity was performed for coin type cells and the microstructural characterization was also performed.
