초록

This letter proposes a modified hybrid precoding strategy for mmWave downlink localization that deploys beamformers and an analog combiner based on phase matching, and a zero-forcing (ZF) digital precoder. To better match the mmWave channel’s main spatial orientations, the analog combiner and precoder are enhanced. The proposed scheme considerably lowers the position error bound (PEB) as compared to traditional phase-based and alternating minimization techniques, according to simulation results using New York University (NYU) channel model. The proposed method demonstrates high potential for 6G positioning, corroborated by the high attainable localization accuracy.
