초록
High-rise buildings with more than 30 stories have been built in Korea since 1990. Moreover, the construction of commercial/residential buildings began in earnest from the late 1990s, and these skyscrapers are now considered as a part of new residential architecture. However, the skyscrapers newly built in Seoul bring about many troubles such as a serious traffic jam and environmental problems caused by the consumption of a large amount of energy and the emission of pollutants. For this reason, if skyscrapers as new urban housing style are indispensable to a city, it requires further efforts to solve these problems. Accordingly, the concepts of sustainable development and environment-friendly access are urgently required in the construction of high-rise architecture in order to find the solution to minimize negative influence of skyscrapers and make ideal skyscrapers harmonizing with nature. Therefore, this study aims to emphasize the necessity of environment-friendly skyscrapers to make the image of Seoul as an ideal future city that is suitable in the age of environment in 21st century, and find the problems of skyscrapers in Seoul by analyzing these skyscrapers from an environment-friendly perspective, and suggest the method to improve the environment-friendly quality of skyscrapers in Korea. In this study, we did case analysis of ten skyscrapers built in Seoul from two points of view: architectural planning(focused on site planning, form planning, elevation, and floor planning), environment-friendly technology (focused on the active use of natural energy, saving resources, the reduction of wastes, natural architectural environment design, and natural friendly system). Besides, we suggested planning elements for the improvement of each item of these two categories.
