Field Emission from carbon nanotubes prepared on Ti deposited Si substrate

Field emission from carbon carbon nanotube emitter fabricated on the Ti deposited silicon substrate by spray method was investigated. Various carbon nanotubes such as single-walled carbon nanotubes, double-walled carbon nanotubes and multiwalled carbon nanotubes were uniformly distributed by spray method. In this work, the turn-on electric field was about 2.5 V/um and the current density of carbon nanotubes was about 5 - 7 mA/cm2 at the applied electric field of 5 - 6 V/um. the field emission follows Fowler-Nordheim behavior. We will also discuss detail emission properties from single- and double-walled carbon nanotubes
