시조의 율격에 대한 학술 담론과 교육 담론의 거리 -시조는 음보율로 설명될 수 있는가-

초록

In this research, I tried to critically consider the concept of foot, the dominant education discourse about rhythm of Sijo genre and argue the expulsion of that concept. For this, I doubted the truth of foot while organizing the main arguments for the rhythm of the Sijo in a research history. And I made sure that past and current literature textbooks and guide books for student consistently have reproduced misconception of rhythm of the Sijo for a long time. By doing this, I was able to know that it is one of the phenomena that academic discourse has not been transferred to education discourse. Furthermore, I proved that the notion of foot itself is not suitable for explaining the rhythm of Korean poetry, and based on this I emphasized the need to expel the notion of foot. In this study, I recognized that the rhythm of Sijo is made by grammatical pause or scansion in accordance with the syntactic coherence, the consideration of the syntactic coherence is not carried out by the subjects of reading but by the subjects of composition. The reader is only led naturally by the syntactic strategy of composer. Based on such a viewpoint, I suggested ‘madi’ which is a meaningful agglomeration unit with syntactic coherence as alternative term substituting foot.
