대학도서관 주제자료실의 실내공간특성에 관한 사례 연구

초록

The present study aims at understanding the spatial characteristics of academic libraries and providing basic resources for future constructions of such spaces. The sample survey selected for this study includes 14 university libraries located in Seoul. We visited the locations, took pictures, and examined the architectural plans. 1) The access to subject specialization is rather inadequate from the building entrance as compared to the general reading rooms. The university libraries that have gone through remodeling and recent construction have their subject specialization be built close to individual learning and multimedia facilities. 2) In case of university libraries that have been newly remodeled, graphic designs and color designs have been applied to emphasize the symbols of each university. 3) Most subject specialization provides public reading spaces. These spaces are formed with furniture (desks and chairs) allowing four or six or more people to sit arranged in rows.
