생애소득과 고용안정성 제고를 위한 복지정책: 캐나다 사례 분석

초록

We address the effect of economic state at high school graduation on long-term income and employment status, using NLSCY of Canada. We find the possibility that the recessions may reduce human capital investment of lower income classes. We also show that the low income and the unstable employment of recession cohorts is due to less post-secondary education, which allows lower accessibility to the occupations and the industries that offer higher wage and stable employment. In addition, we provide some evidence, supporting the policy implication that subsidy to savings plans for education is effective to induce the post-secondary education.
