초록

Utilization of the Bukhan River Basin through South-North Korean CoperationThis study intends to suggest policy meas-ures to utilize the Bukhan river basin areas as a ba-sis for inter-Korean cooperation and exchanges as sugested in the fourth Comprehensive National Territorial Plan of South Korea. To reach this ob-ation projects begin with a joint management of natural, ecological, historical and cultural re-sources in the region. It is also important to estab-lish institutions to use water resources for both South and North Korea, and lay other cooperative foundations in the North Han River basin area, which will ultimately contribute to inter-Korea cooperation. ter-Korean joint projects, including water resource development, disaster prevention, preservation and management of the natural ecology, trans-portation and industrial development, and cultural and historical projects. this study examines policy measures and institutional devices for the promo-tion of inter-Korean joint projects. tive projects in the Bukhan river basin areas, the limitations of present system are analyzed at first, and relevant institutions and systems are proposed to be modified or newly enacted.
