한중 관광협력관계에 대한 구성주의적 접근 - Wendt의 집단정체성을 중심으로 -

The purpose of this study was to analyze the tourism cooperative relations between Korea and China which has been developed throughout the history from the perspective of international relations theory. Especially, this study focused on the change of Korea-China tourism relations after China’s retaliatory action on Korean tourism after THAAD situation. The literature review covered the concepts of international tourism cooperative relations and constructivism of international relations theory and the related precedent studies were discussed. For the research design, a phased analytical model of actors-interaction-collective identity was constructed based on Wendt’s constructive analytical model. Yin’s case study method and Klotz and Lynch’s historical interpretive method were adopted for the research methods. The results of this study showed that Korea and China have constructed the collective identity of unstable, unbalanced and symbolic tourism economic community by the interaction of both parties through historical process. Based on this finding, this study suggested two major cultural measures such as constructing tourism cultural community and fostering tourism knowledge group for Korean government. As the limitations of the study, the needs for expanding the variables such as culture, norm, interactive perception, and for securing new channel to access to individual country’s official data were discussed. In conclusion, it was confirmed that for the development of Korea-China tourism cooperative relations it is required not only to enhance the physical cooperation but also to change the intrinsic perceptional structure of two countries.
