Electronic properties of organic and inorganic molecules-doped single-walled carbon nanotubes

In our works, we doped SWNTs with organic molecules such as strong 7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethane (TCNQ: strong electron-withdrawing compound), tetrathiafulvalene (TTF: strong electron-withdrawing compound), or iodine. Inorganic molecules such as indium oxide (In2O3), magnesium oxide (MgO), or cesium iodide (CsI) was also used as doping species. Making devices with the doped-SWNTs above have shown some important electronic properties such as field emission, secondary electron-emission, and/or the characteristics of field-effective transistor (TFT). To explain the special features of the devices, the band-gap and charge transfer between SWNTs and doping compounds were compared each other.
