자살생각과 도시화율의 연관성에 관한다수준 분석: 2013년 지역사회건강조사를 기반으로

Suicidal ideation affects suicide. Factors affecting suicidal ideation have been studied, but there are not many studies on the association with regional level variables. This study focused on the urbanization rate as a mechanism of health and found that as the urbanization progressed, the socioeconomic heterogeneity led to the formation of alienation and relatively deprived feeling. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between urbanization and suicidal ideation. The results of the analysis using the Community Health Survey (2013) collected by the Center for Disease Control and the urbanization rate of the National Statistical Office are as follows. The rate of suicidal ideation of 219,189 subjects was 10.0%. The results of the multilevel analysis showed that Intra-correlation coefficient was 5.3% in the unconstrained model, and the final model in which final model showed that case of women, lower educational attainment, lower income level, divorcedㆍseparatedㆍbereaved, more chronic diseased condition have increased suicidal ideation significantly. The area with higher urbanization rate are significant(3/4th quartile, 2/4ㆍ1/4 quartile) (Odds ratio: 1.21, 1.20, p <0.05). The urbanization rate based on land use was significant in all categories, and was more significant than the quartile value of the urbanization rate based on the administrative region, the type of urban/ rural, and the type of urban/mixed/rural. This confirms that not only the personal characteristics of the population, but also the contextual characteristics of the region, especially the urbanization rate, can affect individual suicidal ideation. Therefore, programs that can offset the negative effects of urbanization, such as alleviation of heterogeneity among residents and relief of deprivation, should be actively introduced in the promotion of suicide prevention projects.
