사회계약론에 있어 이성과 정의의 관계에 대한 비판적 시각: 맥퍼슨과 코널리를 중심으로
초록
This paper analyzes the relationship between reason and justice developed by the early social contract theorists, especially from two different critics such as C.B. Macpherson and William E. Connolly. For this purpose, I will one hand, discuss Macpherson , who sees the structure of liberalism as merely incomplete. On the other hand, Connolly, who sees the structure as born to be defective and in need of replacement will be followed. Although the common view of these vantage-points are mutually antagonistic, this paper supposes that each operates at a different level of generality, which enables each to understand aspects of the liberal reason and justice relationship that other misses. As a result, this paper argues that even through their standing point is apart, both interpretations are necessary in order to develop an adequate critique of liberalism. Finally, it concludes by a brief outline of a more complex methodology that can be put together the levels of generality applied by Macpherson and Connolly into a more firmed and detailed analysis.
