The Korean Press: Establishing ‘Public Person’ as a Safeguard against Libel Suits

This study begins with an understanding that Korean press has no legitimate safeguard to protect itself from libel suits caused by false news reports about ‘public persons’. It goes on to examine how the Korean press has tried to construct the ‘public person’ as a legal shield against libel actions.
