Measuring user experience: lesson learnt from Kahneman and Tversky’s prospect theory

초록

The aim of the present study is to see an online banking use experience from psychological deviations that make offset users’ rationality conditions, and how they might stand in assessing individual’s user experience. We carried out an empirical study of online banking system use, which inevitability has two conflicting rationality conditions (e.g., technical security vs. usability). Our empirical findings reveal that gains and losses of a design dimension have an asymmetric influence effect on user experience. It is also important to understand what gains and losses of a design dimension might be rationally ignored by users. Based on theoretical principles and empirical finding, this paper finally suggests directions towards measuring user experience for HCI practitioners.
