권상하의 이기심성론과 사상사적 의미
초록
The purpose of this paper is to emboss Kwon Sang-Ha`s philosophical meaning in the context of Joseon `s Neo-Confucianism. Kwon, a successor of Song Si-Yeol, is a leader of Yulgok School, whose main characteristics is to harmonize Lee I(Yulgok)`s learning with Song`spirit of loyalty to Ming dynasty. Because of his firm support in Yulgok` single-line theory that ch´i(the material force) issues and li(the principle) rides on it, he criticised Toegye' two-line theory that each of li and ch´i issues. This means that he tried to defend Yulgok School and Lee I`s thoughts against T'oegye School`s attack upon them. He also advocated inmulseongiron, a theory that while only the human beings possess the five moral natures wholly, animals and botanies don`t have them completely. This theory implies that we have to make a discrimination between civilized nations and barbarians as well as human beings and non-human beings.
