초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the diversity of commercial store and street vitality by district types in Seoul. Diversity of commercial store measured number of store by commercial type and commercial use mix index (entropy). The sectors with positive influences on street vitality on commercial and residential districts were different in each district. The commercial store with positive influence on street vitality in each commercial district are retail, food and medical services, with retail having the highest influence. In residential districts, the pedestrian volume on the streets was the highest in locations with real estate, food and medical service businesses. pedestrian volume was low in locations with businesses with high numbers of life services and education businesses. Commercial use mix index was found to be statistically insignificant with regards to floating population in both types of districts. This appears to be due to two factors, which are the classification of commercial use to measure the effects of mixes, as well as the limitations of the mixed land use index(entropy) that cannot reflect the use characteristics.
