Potential Therapeutic Strategy of Alzheimer`s Disease: Role of GSK-3 Inhibitor

Increase of glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) has recently been emphasized as an important pathogenic mechanism of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer`s disease (AD). In Alzheimer`s disease, β-amyloid activates GSK-3, and activated GSK-3 phosphorylates tau protein and then induces neuronal cell death.
