우리나라 종교문화정책의 문제점과 위험성

초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine and criticize Korean government’s religious cultural policy. The Korean Constitution clearly declares the principle of the separation of church and state. However the Korean government has provided various policy benefits to religion. That is why the Korean state can be criticized for having corrupt relationship with religion. Nevertheless there has been little public criticism so far mainly because most of the financial supports for religion have been disguised as cultural policy programs. This paper closely examines 1) the government subsidy programs for constructing religious sanctuary areas and 2) the Religious Affairs Office’s budget for subsidizing religious facilities. It will also analyze why the subsidy for religion disguised as cultural policy has long persisted despite lack of legitimacy.
