초록

Garam is a man who fulfilled an ambitious plan to revolutionize Sijo to a modern literature genre. Garam introduced concrete writing methods of Sijo, then he strived to write Sijo and became a suggestive example. He completed systematic structure of innate 3 lines of Sijo based on traditional lyricism and remained an completion case to make modern Sijo genre with the combination of vision between lyricism and awareness. Garam’s Sijo contained a type of seeking figure to recover the origin of life beyond simple scenery or nature lyricism, which could be called only field of Garam’s Sijo dreaming unity between human and nature through Sijo. His Sijo showed aesthetic intention to keep basic life and manner with nature things and consistency containing endless search courses for life and to embody of images of orchid. He argued that modern Sijo have to describe real feeling and real emotion, then he declared to introduce description in Sijo. He deeply accepted himself keeping elegance and fidelity, and showed poetics of ataraxy, nirvana and self positiveness. Also Garam said Munjang and Jindanhakbo as representative journals of cultural movement after the Samil independence movement of Korea, and thought the connection between introducing mater pieces of Naegan style and Sijo revival movement as big achievements. Garam took roles like a mental chief in the courses from later 1930s’ which prevailed classic revival movement to its peak through Munjang. When we summarize a mental indicator of Munjang group to the traditional elegance of Sunbi, Garam existed a heritor of not patriot Sunbi but orignal Sunbi’s manner and appreciation.
