초록
Both personal and environmental factors should be considered in comprehending the level of an individual’s cultural sensitivity. It would be meaningful to explore how ‘concern over mistakes’ of perfectionism combined with ‘individualism/collectivism’ affects cultural sensitivity. A total of 209 counseling graduate students responded to the questionnaires to find out how subscales of the cultural sensitivity can differ from the clusters formed by the combination of concern over mistakes and individualism/collectivism. The results are as follows; First, groups with high collectivism and low concern over mistake, and those with a high horizontal individualism and low concern over mistakes, are more confident in interaction with cultural sensitivity than those with high verticalism and high levels of concern over mistakes. Second, regarding interaction attentiveness, a group with high levels of individualism with moderate levels of concern over mistakes showed higher cultural sensitivity than those with high levels of vertical collectivism and high levels of concern over mistakes. Lastly, groups showing high horizontal individualism with low and moderate concern over mistakes had higher levels of cultural sensitivity than those with a predominance of verticalism and high levels of concern over mistakes.
