국내 벤처기업의 글로벌화 유형에 관한 연구

초록

The promotion of venture firms globalization can play a significant role in economic growth of a country. Fostering venture firms aiming for global markets beyond the domestic market is an urgent task to revitalize venture firms. For the last 20 years, approximately 30,000 venture companiess in Korea have experienced various overseas expansion processes in the midst of continuous growth and development. In spite of these experiences, the systematic classification and identification of changes in globalization patterns and development processes of Korean venture firms are in insufficient state. However the knowledge of up-to-date development processes and understanding of the patterns of globalizations is essential for the establishment and execution of the policy that promotes globalization of venture firms. The purpose of this study is to derive the criteria and model for classifying the globalization of Korean venture firms on the basis of the preceding research, and to provide the characteristics of the globalization type objectively and concretely through the qualitative analysis based on the derived model. We present an analytical model based on corporate classification(Industrial type-Market type) and strategic choice(Globalization speed) and classify the main types of venture firms globalization into five categories. In addition, by applying representative venture firms to this model, we have identified the characteristics of venture firms by their globalization types. As a result of analyzing the characteristics of representative venture firms for each types, we found that there are differences in the pursuits of their globalization strategies and that the future evolution model of venture globalization type can be predicted. This result suggests that it is necessary to establish policy and system that support the growth of Korean venture firms through globalization. In addition, the results of this study can contribute to the creation of venture ecosystem promoting globalization of venture firms pursued by Korea.
