근대건축물의 보존과 재생을 통한 문화 공간 활성화 연구

초록

We think that old-fashioned things are unnecessary in the process of quick change in modern society. Thus, we disregard, leave alone and give damage to historical culture resources. Most of modern buildings are located in the downtown and so have received threat of removal because of problems of economic feasibility and locality. By lack of recognition about value of modern buildings, modern buildings are now facing a serious crisis to disappear. However, modern architecture culture assets are partially utilized as culture space. The study surveyed buildings registered in cultural assets, having the original form preserved and utilized as culture space after 2000. The purpose of the study was to examine whether they were recycled and preserved as culture space by observing the standard of preservation as a cultural asset. The study carried out literary survey, field survey ad interviews with officers in charge. As for the study range, through theoretical backgrounds and case studies on modern architectural buildings, regeneration, cultural space, the design characteristics via conservation types,conservation characteristics, and regeneration were analyzed and conclusion was reached. Most of modern buildings were preserved as they were without deformation of appearance. When they had extension works, it was expressed that the past and the present were coexisted by preserving characteristic appearance and recycling them as a modern exhibit hall. The external design elements such as external architecture form to let us know about architectural features, external finishing and window or door and internal structure of architecture had high preservation since they expressed modern history. The internal space had a form of complex culture space including spaces of exhibition, education, lecture, exploration and cafeteria. Without relocation, placeness and historicity of modern building are kept by preserving exterior form. Modern buildings had strived in order to be a symbolic attraction of history and architectural artistry of the modern buildings had been preserved.
