다문화미술교육에 대한 예비·현직 교사의 인식과 교사교육의 방향

초록

The purpose of this study is to explore new objectives of art teacher education so as to have multicultural education established in Korea in accordance with the recent political, social, and cultural demands. To that end, this research examined in what way the concepts of multicultural art education, based on multiculturalism of the West, have been applied in the Korean art education and discuss the importance of the role or professionalism of art teachers who can provide multi-cultural art education that reflects the changes and demand of the Korean society. Awareness of prospect and present art teachers were analyzed to provide practical measures for multi-cultural education, and objectives for developing multi-cultural art teachers were provided in terms of the education course, efficacy and understanding of an art teacher, and goals to be established. Supposing that theories of multicultural art education should be linked to practice, this study reviewed the standpoint of teachers who provide multi-cultural education to prepare basic data for details of future education plans and promote discussion on multicultural education for teachers.
