A Study on Facilitator's Role and Required Competencies for Human Resource Development in Corporate setting

초록

The purpose of this study was to define facilitator's roles and required competencies for HRD in corporate setting. The Delphi method was conducted three times for this study. The 22 Certified Professional Facilitators(CPF) of Korea Facilitators Association(KFA) were selected as a group of experts for the study. The totals of 20 responses were collected finally. From this study, the 5 roles of facilitator in organization were defined as a facilitator of conference, a supporter of performance creation, a communicator, a manager of process, and a manager of change. Additionally, the 22 required competencies related to the roles were drawn such as remaining neutral attitude, facilitating skills, question skills, developing relationship, and conflict management. The results of this study suggested that the roles of HRD professional are emphasized on facilitating collaboration of diverse talents in organization and supporting creation outcomes by efficient decision-making process as the facilitators recently taking a greater role in organization. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as a basic data for HRD professionals accomplishing roles and developing ability as a facilitator by providing the major roles and required competencies of facilitators in corporate setting.
