고려말 對明 使行의 遼東半島 경로 고찰

초록

The Liaotung Peninsula was a part of Korean history from the prehistoric age until now regardless of the political sovereignty. This study examined the route on the Liaotung Peninsula among the routes of envoy to the Ming Dynasty at the end of Goryeo dynasty as a part of project emphasizing the Liaotung Peninsula as a part of Korean history and furthermore, exploited the historic and cultural meaning of the Liaotung Peninsula by examining the literary works created on the route of envoy. For about 30 years from 1368 when the Ming Dynasty set up the capital in Nanjing to 1392 when the Goryeo Dynasty fell down, the envoy of Goryeo Dynasty visited the Ming Dynasty about 50 times. Most of those visits used the sea route from the Liaotung Peninsula to the Shandong Peninsula. The historical and geographical aspects including the historic features and route of envoy to the Ming dynasty at the end of Goryeo Dynasty were examined in advance so that the literary works created with such a route as the background could be precisely interpreted. This study examined the scenery and atmosphere on the route of envoy at that time with the poem of Jeong Mongju as the main text. Consequently, various situations in the Liaotung Peninsula, features of scenery on the roadsides and the emotion and pain of envoy at the early Ming Dynasty were identified. Moreover, according to the deliberation on the recognition on the ancient history, Jeong Mongju demonstrated the definite historical recognition on Goguryeo and Balhai in the history of Goryeo Dynasty. The literary works with those peninsula as the background were not significant in terms of quality as well as quantity, but they were very valuable because they enabled to recognize the Liaotung Peninsula at that time from the point of view of Koreanology.
