병렬 말뭉치를 활용한 한국어 부사 ‘잘’의 베트남어 대응 양상 연구

초록

This study examines the Vietnamese equivalents of the Korean adverb jal (well) using a Korean–Vietnamese parallel corpus, with the aim of identifying cross-linguistic differences and drawing pedagogical implications for Korean language education. Prior research and dictionary definitions of jal were reviewed, and a total of 12,858 instances of jal were extracted and analyzed using Python and Excel. The analysis shows that approximately 70% of the occurrences had Vietnamese equivalents, while about 30% did not. The most frequent translations were tốt (good), rõ (clearly), and giỏi (skillfully), accounting for over half of all equivalents. Syntactic differences were observed in word order, polarity (affirmative vs. negative), part-of-speech shifts, and changes in sentence structure. Cases lacking explicit translation of jal were attributed to translation strategies or omission during the process. These findings highlight the need to raise learners awareness of the contextual variability of jal. Instruction should address not only its semantic range but also its syntactic and pragmatic constraints. By analyzing authentic language data, this study provides insights into Korean–Vietnamese contrastive linguistics and offers practical implications for the development of Korean language teaching materials for Vietnamese learners.
